BR CHRISTOPHER FREDERICK

This month’s ‘Spotlight’ focuses on youth, and shines it’s beam on the Retired Transit Police Guardians’ youngest member, Brother CHRISTOPHER FREDERICK.

Chris was born April 27, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Brooklyn Tech High School and graduated from George Wingate High School in Brooklyn, New York. He became a member of the New York City Transit Police Department in January 1982 and worked in District #32, City Wide Task Force, Narcotics Unit, and the Criminal Intelligence Unit. Very active during his career, Chris was the recipient of twenty-eight (28) Meritorious Awards. He was also honored by the New York Daily News as the “Police Officer of the Month”, in May 1986, for his actions involving a Sutter Ave booth holdup. Chris retired from the New York City Police Department in 2002, in the rank of Detective. At present, he is the Assistant Security Director at the Carlyle Hotel in New York City.

Brother Chris has been an active member of the Transit Police Retired Guardians since his retirement, attending all the events and the reunions. His enthusiasm led to his election as the organization’s Sgt. - At - Arms for the 2007-2008 term. Recently, the office of Financial Secretary became vacant and Chris has graciously volunteered to take on those duties also. It appears that he is on the ‘fast track’ for bigger and better things in the future. The Spotlight would like to publically applaud the efforts of this man, Brother Christopher Frederick.

Chris considers the raising of his four children, as a single parent, the highlight of his life’s accomplishments. He resides in the Bronx, New York and can be reached via e-mail at dasquad2424@aol.com
