Walter and Alberta have been married for 48 years, the union of which has produced three sons and five grandchildren. Both are extremely proud of their sons, all of whom are Detectives in the New York Police Department. The oldest,Walter, has been 'on the job' 20 years and is in the 73rd Squad.  Gregory, holder of a Ph.D. in psychology, is the Department's ONLY uniformed Psychologist.  Dr. Mack is assigned to the Medical Division. Last, but not least, is Roger, who is assigned to the Bomb Squad. Roger is affectionately known as the "Jackie Robinson of  the Bomb Squad " insofar as he is the first Black member of that elite unit in its 100 years of existence. Walter's pride in his sons is not so much in their accomplishments, but in the realization that he and Alberta raised three exceptionally fine young men. "Way to go, Walter".
