The 'Spotlight' for November 2005 proudly shines on Brother RONALD ELLERBE. Ron was born November 14, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York. He is a graduate of
Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fordham University and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from C.W.Post College. He also did a stint as an adjunct lecturer
in Public Administration at Long Island University. Ron joined the NYC Transit Police Department November 9, 1964 and retired July 4, 1990. During his police career, he worked in Districts #3, #20, #30,
#22 and Headquarters. From 1982-1990, he was on leave from the Transit Police Department and worked for the Transit Authority as chief of EEO and Contract Compliance. He is most proud of creating a document
that put the Transit Authority in compliance with federal law regarding the spirit of affirmative action. A very community-active person, Ron was president of the Board of Rochdale Village, Queens, New
York, in the 1980's, and has served in the Freeport, Long Island Little League. Currently, he is in his fourth term as a member of the Freeport school district Board of Education. Ron is married to Valerie, has
