This month the ' Spotlight ' shines on Brother JOHN NORRIS.  John was born in Union, South Carolina on February 27, 1936. He is a graduate of Sims High School in Union, and attended Suffolk County CC in New York where he earned an Associate degree in Liberal Arts.
 
John became a member of the New York Transit Police Department in December, 1965, and worked in Districts #2, #4, #22 and #20. He left the Department in November, 1980. Presently, he serves on the Trustee Board of the Belmont Lake Civic Association in North Babylon, New York, and as a Democratic committee person in Babylon. John likes acting and writing poetry. Over the years, he has been a supporter of Transit Guardian affairs, and can usually be spotted at the reunions, Christmas partys and annual picnics.
 
When asked what he puts on the top of the list of his life's accomplishments, John is quick to cite the successful rearing of his children. He has been married to Vinnia for forty seven years, and they have one son, three daughters and nine grandchildren.
