BROTHER JOHN JUDSON

The ‘Spotlight’ may be based in New York, but it’s beam can reach just about anywhere on the planet. Case in point is this month’s subject, another retiree who made that drive south on I-95, Brother JOHN JUDSON.

John was born December 27, 1942, in Coy, Alabama. He is a graduate of Alexander Hamilton High School, in Brooklyn, New York. He also attended some college classes at New York Tech in New York. John was in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1967, serving the bulk of his enlistment at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. In March 1969, he became a member of the New York City Transit Police Department, where he worked in Districts #4 and #32. He retired in June 1989. Presently, he is working part-time at the Chesterfield Sheriff’s Office in Virginia.

John attends St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Chesterfield City, Virginia and is most proud of being an Episcopalian. He is a member of the ‘Sons of Barnabas’, a very active men’s group, affectionately known by parishioners as the ‘S.O.B.s’.

John has been married to Darlene for the past 23 years, and they have five children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He lives in Petersburg, Virginia, and can be reached via e-mail at djudson497@aol.com
