BROTHER ALPHONSO DIXON


 
The Retired Guardians Fraternal Association is proud to shine it’s September 2005  'Spotlight' on Brother ALPHONSO  DIXON.  Al was born on August 28, 1943, in New York City. He is a graduate of Charles Evans Hughes High School, and attended New York City CC for one year. He served in the U.S.Army from 1965-1967, the majority of which was spent in Thailand.
 
Al was a member of the NYC Transit Police Department from 1970 to 1993. He worked in Districts #5, #2,and #12. In District #12, he served as the Auxiliary Coordinator, and as the Field Training Officer (S.A.). He is a member of the Retired Transit Guardians Century Club, and is an avid follower of sports and current events. Those of us who attend meetings know Al to be very loquacious. and while his offerings sometimes tend to be
humorous, they are in fact knowledgeable and informative. Ever the talker. Al can converse in Spanish, as well as read and write in that language. Brother Al loves to dance and when it comes to the mambo he is truly a non-pareil.
 
Al is most proud of his life as a good citizen, respecting all people. He has been married to Elaine for 32 years,
has one son and one granddaughter. He resides in Springfield Gardens, New York, and can be reached on
