Hospitalization - Brother Gamon Stewart

Information has been received that Brother Gamon Stewart recently underwent open heart surgery at Long Island Jewish Hospital. He is currently in ICU and his wife Beverly will advise us when he can receive visitors or telephone calls.

Update - July 1, 2010

Brother Stewart was released from the hospital last week but had to be readmitted due to an infection at the incision site. He then underwent another surgical procedure to correct the problem.

Brother McCray spoke with Beverly Stewart today (7/1/10). She stated that Gamon is sitting up and eating a very light diet. He is off of the intravenous feeding and he is steadily improving. She said that the doctors are amazed at his recovery rate. He is still in ICU and talking is not an option at this point largely due to the tubes, etc. Beverly states that she is doing okay.
