GEORGE URQUHART - P.H. 12

In September 2005 we received an email from Mrs. June Egbuonu, the sister of Patrolman George Urquhart, NYPD, stating that we had mistakenly identified a picture of her brother George as Charlie Rangel. The picture appears on Page 2 of our Photo History. (Please click here for comparison of Rangel & Urquhart pictures). Mrs. Egbuonu stated that her brother George was the President of the Guardian Association, NYPD, from 1954 to 1955 and promised to send in some photo’s of her brother. After receiving the photo’s and making a comparison, it appears that the photo on page 2, identifying the person 3rd from the left as Charlie Rangel may in fact be George Urquhart. While there could be some doubt as to the picture, there is no doubt that the late Patrolman George Urquhart served with honor as a president of the Guardian Association and we proudly post the pictures and news articles supplied by Mrs. Egbuonu
