Mrs. Maie Mills reports that Chief Charles Mills called her from his WTC office on the 87th Floor shortly after the first plane struck Tower 1 and stated that he was on his way home. A short time later Tower 2 was struck and Chief Mills has not been heard from since. Chief Charles Mills is now assumed to be deceased. Mrs. Maie Mills stated that Charlie died doing what he loved best, protecting other people. Charles was 62 and lived with his family in Brentwood, NY. He is survived by his wife Maie, sons Charles, Adam, Alexander, John and Kari.

“Chief Mills was a former C.O. of District 32 and I often met him in the Brentwood area and we spoke of D-32 and the wonderful time that he had there as the C.O. and the great group of officers that he served with.”
