On June 11, 2001 The Retired Guardians Association held it’s monthly meeting at the Lenox Lounge in Harlem. The lounge is proudly owned by Retired Guardian Alvin Reed. Brother
Reed has owned the lounge for the last 13 yrs. The lounge has recently undergone a million dollar renovation and has been designated a “Historical Building” by NYC. It is also a very popular film and television
shooting location hosting such movies as Malcolm X, Shaft II and the television show New York Undercover. Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey have also shot music videos at the lounge. The Lenox Lounge originally opened
in 1939, which coincidentally, was the year that Alvin was born.
