and Now.......

Sam joined the Dept. on 11/1/64 and was assigned to District 1 after recruit training. He says that he was fortunate to have some "Cerberean Society Top Guns" as his training officers. Among them were Jimmy Ray, Ron Figueroa, Hartly Hearst, Big Steve, Lenny Walkes, Al Dalton, Horace Wright and Joe Edwards.

After being assigned to CSPS in 1967 Sam worked Special Events, RMP, Revenue Escorts, which included several out of state escorts.

In 1980 Sam was reassigned to the Police Academy on 20th Street where he served as an instructor in Defensive Tactics, Firearms, Arrest Procedures and Police Science until his retirement in 1988.

Upon retirement Sam relocated to Georgia where he became a Ga. Certified Police Lecturer, training several local police agencies. He then became a trainer for private detective and security officer companies and was appointed Chairperson of the Carrol County Codes Enforcement Appeals Board. And in his spare time he established his own security and loss prevention company, Mackay Protection, LTD and counted among his major accounts, Alamo Car Rental at Atlanta's Hartsfield Airport.

Sam is now fully retired and the primary caregiver for his 94 year old mother, who resides with him. As his Now picture indicates, Sam still believes that a healthy body fosters a healthy mind and firmly believes that "we are today what we started yesterday" and in business, as well as life itself, "Under promise, and always make the effort to deliver what we promise"
