1999

On September 8, 2009 we received this picture of retired Transit Police Officer Walton Harris with the following letter:

‘My name is Melvin Harris. I worked for the NYTP as a Police Administrative Aide in the 1970’s. My father, Walton Harris started as a Patrolman in 1955 and retired some 22 years later (1977). I recently discovered your web site “NYC Retired Guardians”. I was immediately overcome with joy and sadness. The joy came from seeing and recalling many of the officers that I knew and worked with. The sadness came from learning of the passing of many of these people. My dad Walton Harris also passed on in 1999. I am enclosing a copy of a photo of my dad and would appreciate it if you could put it next to his buddies on the Transit Police Department.
