IN REMEMBRANCE OF LIEUTENANT HOWARD CROSBY
On a mild fall day, November 2, 2002, one of our most esteemed members was called to take his last train out. Brother Howard Crosby passed on. He left behind 81 years of
love and friendships. he was a man who spent most of his tenure on earth serving his country, first in W.W.II and later as a RR Clerk.
In 1950 he became a Transit Patrolman and ascended through the ranks to Lieutenant. He worked in many districts and units, including the Police Academy, and retired as
commander of the Firearms Unit. In retirement he was active in his church as an usher and in the Men’s Guild. He was the Treasurer in the 369th Veterans Association. Off the job we will always remember his warm
personality as the Associations Welfare Officer. In that capacity he touched many of our lives. He held that position for many years.
There are many more accolades that could be heaped on Brother Howard Crosby, but the best we can do is pray for him and his family and say “REST IN PEACE.” It was a life
well spent. The long journey has come to an end and his new life will be spent in eternity with GOD.
